ABOUT THE TEAM
WDL is expanding its Africa operations and is looking to add a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer & Content Specialist to support the team. Our Africa team is made up of skilled professionals based across the continent—including Kenya, Rwanda, and Senegal-who collaborate closely on various projects. This role will play a key part in shaping the visual identity of our work, producing engaging content, and supporting the team in communicating data-driven insights that inform impactful decision-making across Africa.
ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly creative and versatile visual Graphic Designer & Content Specialist to join our Africa-based team. We prefer the candidate to be based in Nairobi, where some team members are already located. However, we’re also open to considering candidates based in Kigali or Senegal. This hybrid role fulltime position combines graphic design, social media content creation, and video editing to support storytelling, digital engagement, and communications across multiple platforms.

You’ll play a hands-on role in crafting high-quality, on-brand visual assets that support strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and brings a sharp design eye, digital fluency, and strong execution skills.

As part of the application process, we’d like to see your skills in action - please submit your portfolio along with your resume to help us better assess your fit with the team.

THE CHALLENGE
  • Design digital and print-ready assets including infographics, reports, presentation decks, social tiles, event collateral, and more
  • Develop and apply templates and design systems for scalable content production
  • Ensure brand consistency and visual clarity across all deliverables
  • Produce platform-ready creative content (e.g. carousels, quote cards, animations, reels) for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, and others
  • Collaborate with the team to localize messages and tailor visuals to campaign objectives
  • Assist in planning and executing content calendars with strong visual storytelling
  • Edit and produce engaging video content including short-form reels, interviews, testimonials, and explainer videos
  • Add subtitles, motion graphics, transitions, and branding as required
  • Repurpose long-form footage into social-friendly clips for wider distribution
  • Work closely with Reshma and the Africa team to prioritize requests and deliverables
  • Contribute creative input to brainstorming sessions and planning meetings
  • Maintain an organized digital asset library and file structure for team access
YOUR PROFILE
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar multimedia or design role
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design, video editing, and social content production
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign)
  • Experience with Canva, Figma, or other collaborative tools
  • Understanding of digital content trends, particularly social-first visual formats
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to meet deadlines
OUR OFFER
  • Lead initiatives and work with a dynamic cross-functional team.
  • The opportunity to have an impact in a fast-growing and well-established big data SaaS scale-up
  • Gain unique insights into an NGO company, including interactions with large companies, international organizations, and governments.
  • Flexible working hours and conditions with high acceptance of home office
  • Be part of an international team of highly motivated and like-minded individuals, including global thought leaders.
  • Great individual professional and educational development - including growth opportunities within the team.
OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS
  • Initial Screening: A quick chat with our People & Culture Manager to understand your background and expectations.
  • 1st Interview: Meet the team and showcase your design skills through a presentation.
  • 2nd Interview: Meet the hiring manager and get to know our working culture as well as the business expectations.
  • Final Steps: Receive feedback and, if successful, an offer!
We keep it simple and aim to wrap up the process within 3 weeks.

We encourage you to apply even if you only meet most of the requirements (but not 100% of the listed criteria) – we believe skills evolve over time. If you’re willing to learn and grow with us, we invite you to join our team!
