As a Staff Backend Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing our backend architecture. You will lead the development of scalable, high-quality software while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with frontend and other system components.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and microservices.
- Drive technical decisions and define best practices for backend architecture.
- Implement clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to develop integrated solutions.
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Ensure a high level of security and data protection.
- Utilize cloud technologies and DevOps tools to streamline development and deployment processes.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and mentoring of junior developers.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in backend development, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
- Strong proficiency in at least two backend programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go) and one scripting language.
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-based infrastructures (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience working with event-driven architectures, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of NoSQL and relational databases.
- Experience with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines).
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with full-stack development.
- Knowledge of AI/ML technologies and data engineering.
- Hands-on experience with high-traffic, data-intensive applications.
- Previous experience mentoring junior engineers and leading technical projects.

- The minimum salary for this position is € 68,000, overpayment possible depending on qualifications
